Roofing Monitor Overview
A roofing monitor is an elevated structure along the ridge of a double-pitched roof, with its own roof running parallel to the main one. It is designed to provide additional light and ventilation to the space below. The sides of the monitor often include clerestory windows or louvers. These openings help illuminate and air out the area beneath the roof. Roofing monitors are commonly found in large buildings, such as warehouses or churches, where natural light and airflow are important.
